Creating Opportunities for Success with Opportunity International in Bihar, India


Directors of the Tamara Foundation had the privilege of meeting Doris Olafsen through a joint partnership concerning the work of another not-for-profit board. When Doris transitioned to Opportunity International, she was confident that the Tamara Foundation’s purpose to help disadvantaged and devalued women and their families would be a good match with Opportunity International’s project to assist poor women in Bihar, India, spearheaded by Opportunity International Australia.

Bridging the Hunger Gap with Backpack Buddies


For years, breakfast and lunch programs have been offered by schools across the country as teachers and facilitators recognize that many of their students come to school hungry or with no lunch of their own. When a child is hungry, not only are they unable to focus and learn, but they become embarrassed amongst their peers.
